What is there to do nearby?

Cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands, Inverness has a bounty to offer in terms of history. Whatever you decide to get up to, you’re sure to find a lot of history, a large spoonful of stunning scenery and a (generous) dash of magic here.

Soak in a few of our favourite sights:

  • Check out the area's Old Town, which features a 19th-century cathedral, an 18th-century high church and an indoor Victorian marketplace
  • Head to the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, a free-entry history and culture centre where you can get to know all about the art, history and heritage of the Highlands
  • Visit the North Coast 500, a breath-taking 516-mile scenic driving route around the north coast of Scotland that starts and ends at Inverness Castle
  • Discover one of the many legends and stories to tell – one of the most famous stars the legendary loch ness monster
  • Head to Loch Ness and look out for Nessie on a boat trip, stroll around the boutique shops or take some stunning photographs of this serene spot

Great central location for train (and bus) travellers. Good value, old-fashioned charm with a few dated features which add to the character of the place.

Very pleasant stay in this traditional hotel right in the heart of Inverness next to station.

Central hotel in Inverness. Our room was very large - the bathroom was also very large.
